It holds 200ml of liquid. It does look a lot of oil, but it makes quite a large cake, and it doesn't taste or feel oily at all. You can always put a little less in. I would however give Herman a few days to recover from his arctic expedition before the main process starts! Anyone else frozen or refrigerated Herman with success (or otherwise)? We were told Herman couldn't even go in the fridge. But then we were also told to only ever stir the mixture with a wooden spoon. We were secretly hoping he'd come back (he was very cute) but we've moved our grain bin away from the wall and I don't think he can get in anymore. We've had them for several years visiting our bird-feeder. We're not trying to grow food, so we encourage them. They are very sweet if you're not worried about them stealing things.
